Looking for a good Cuzco hostal? The Khipus Inn is an affordable Cuzco lodging within walking distance of the city’s commercial centre and historic sights. The Khipus Inn is a basic reinforced concrete structure that was renovated in 2008, featuring 20 rooms with private bathroom facilities. For the safety of guests, modern safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and emergency lights, has been installed at the hostal. The halls of the Khipus Inn are attractively decorated with side tables and houseplants. There’s free wireless internet access 24 hours a day in the homely lobby, and guests can use the conventional internet connection for free for 15 minutes. A complimentary breakfast is served each morning in the cafeteria. The Khipus Inn is on a street named Belen, close to the city centre. It’s within walking distance of a popular Cuzco attraction, the site of the Inca Qoricancha (sometimes spelled Qorikancha), the Sun Temple, which the Spanish conquerors mostly destroyed to build the Church of Santo Domingo. Today you can see both the Catholic church and the foundations of the Inca temple; an underground museum displays Inca artifacts and mummies. You can see well preserved Spanish colonial architecture a few blocks to the north at the main city square, the Plaza de Armas.
