This Spanish style architectural jewel was built in 1930 and declared Architectural and Cultural Heritage of Colombia in 1987. El Prado Hotel has been the meetings place for the social elite and the venue of the most celebrated events, in particular the yearly Carnival. The hotel building is always kept in perfect condition and up to world wide standards. Located the most central sector of the city, the Hotel the Prado has become an icon of the capital of the Atlantic Coast, being also one of most traditional of the country. The Prado is located in the commercial and executive surroundings of the district, next to three of the most important avenues of the city and has been declared jewel of the architecture of the city.
