Business hours of reception: 24 hours Hotel de Sal is about 200 m from the town of Tahua and 110 km from Uyuni. As its name describes, it is almost entirely made of pure salt blocks extracted from the Uyuni Salt Flats. It is located at the base of the Thunupa Vulcan in the northern border of the Salt Flats. It has been built on a small hill, which allows a panoramic view of the Flats with its 12000 km². Hot water, private bathrooms, heating, breakfast, bar and restaurant, comfortable beds with feather duvets are at your disposal. Due to its strategic location on this part of the Salt Flats, it offers a wide variety of cultural activities in communion with nature. You may want to enjoy a hearty breakfast on the terrace, admiring the panoramic view of the Flats and at the distance, the Islands of Incahuasi and Fish Island which lie in the salt desert awaiting your visit. Depending on your aptitude, you may want to climb to the very top of the Thunupa Volcano or, if you prefer soft climbing, hike to the sight seeing site of Pukara Chillima, the pre-Columbian ruins and an extraordinary view of the Salt Flats. You may want to hike on nearby Isla Pescado called Incahuasi Island or visit exotic salt harvesting and processing plants.
