The Hotel de Gouden Leeuw—the names translates as the Hotel of the Golden Lion—is a family-run hotel with a warm, personal atmosphere. Centrally located in Geldrop, the hotel is adjacent to a local landmark, St. Anne’s Hospital (St. Annaziekenhuis), which was founded as a monastery in 1874. Most of the town's many historic sights, such as the Church of St. Brigida, the 19th-century town hall, and numerous stately homes, are within a 5 minute walk of the Hotel de Gouden Leeuw. Of particular interest is the Geldrop Weaving Museum (Weverijmuseum Geldrop), housed in a historic textile mill along the Kleine Dommel River. Just north of the town centre is Geldrop Castle, an impressive manor house surrounded by English-style landscaped gardens with cycling and walking paths running through them. From the Hotel de Gouden Leeuw it’s approx. 650 metres/0.4 mile to the Geldrop train station, 9.6 km/6.0 miles to the Eindhoven city centre, and 13 km/8.1 miles to Eindhoven Airport.
