Stay at the Hotel Breza Prilep when you visit Western Macedonia. It’s a friendly Prilep hotel on the southern side of the city, 1 km/0.6 mile from the town square and the Old Bazaar. The Hotel Breza is a small hotel that opened in 2003. It has free parking for guests, a cosy cafe bar, and its own security. Adjacent to the hotel is a car rental agency. The friendly staff at the hotel can arrange translation services or private transportation by jeep to any of the local sights. The hotel is centrally located in Prilep, within walking distances of the historic sights around the 1858 clock tower, the Turkish Bazaar, and the 1475 Carshi Mosque. The Tomb of the Unconquered in the city’s central park stands in memory of the victims of fascism. The Institute of Old Slavic Culture and the Center of Contemporary Visual Arts will interest art-lovers. Approx. 4.3 km/2.7 miles to the north are numerous 13th and 14th century churches in the village of Varosh. Of particular note are the 12th century St. Nikola Church and Holy Archangels Monastery. From Varosh it’s a 30 minute hike to the ruins of the medieval fortress Markovi kuli, or Prince Marko’s Towers. Prilep is approx. 137 km/85.1 miles from Skopje, the capital of the Republic of Macedonia.
