Newly opened in 2007, Hotel 1 is an intimate accommodation with 20 guest rooms and a professional conference room. A delicious breakfast buffet is served each morning in the hotel’s modern breakfast room. The friendly staff is happy to recommend excellent restaurants nearby for your other meals. At Hotel 1, you’ll be surrounded by the medieval city of Visby, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Just 2 blocks away is the Gotlands Museum, where you can learn about the local art, history and archeology. To the west of Hotel 1 are the Almedalen and Gotland University College. To the north are the historic Kruttornet, or Gunpowder Tower, and a botanical garden. Visby Cathedral is to the northeast. To the east, the Eastern Gate is the traditional entrance to the city through the city walls, which stretch 3.5 km/2.2 miles and in places stand 11 metres/36 feet high.
