Location This luxury hotel is situated in the conference centre of Barcelona, near the airport. The FIRA Exhibition Centre and a health club are nearby. Numerous shopping and entertainment venues are about 3 km away. The nearest bus stop is around 15 m and a train station roughly 500 m. The hotel provides an ideal base for visiting the city's sights, such as the Olympic Stadium and the Plaza Espana. Facilities Established in 2005, this luxury hotel was designed by British architect Richard Rogers and offers a total of 280 rooms on 27 floors, including 34 suites and 4 wheelchair-accessible rooms. The hotel features a restaurant serving Mediterranean dishes prepared with wine, focusing on one of the oldest of ingredients ever used in southern Europe. The wine selection includes approximately 100 different bottles from Spain, Europe, North and South America, Australia and South Africa. The hotel's most dominant feature is the glass dome "Eva" restaurant at the top of the Tower. Guests can also eat in the Axis Bar and the cafe. The hotel has a lobby, a 24-hour reception, a safe, a currency exchange facility, a cloakroom, a lift, a TV room, a conference room, an Internet connection, WLAN and a garage (charges apply). An auditorium, shops, a hairdressing salon, and room and laundry services (charges apply) are also on offer. Rooms The rooms have been tastefully decorated with rich fabrics and deep colours, such as aubergine and burgundy, with cream carpets throughout. Well-balanced lighting means the room can be used for working or relaxing. Fittings include a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, an Internet connection, a minibar, a hire safe, ironing equipment, and individual air conditioning and heating. The rooms also come with an en suite bathroom, a hairdryer, a lounge area and a terrace. Sports/Entertainment Guests may use the nearby 4,000-m² health club (for an additional fee), where there is an indoor swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a sun terrace, a steam room, a massage service and a solarium. Many different sports are on offer there. The nearest golf course lies some 5 km away (charges apply). Meals Guests may select their breakfast from a buffet. Lunch and dinner may be taken a la carte; lunch is also available as a set menu. Half-board stays may be booked.
