Harpenden House, 18 Southdown Road , Harpenden, Hertfordshire AL5 1PE Harpenden House Hotel is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian town house with a rich history. At the beginning of the 19th century it was used as a 'school for young ladies' and subsequently it has been a private house and a convent for the Dominican Sisters. A hotel since 1970 many of the original period features remain, including a large 18th century fireplace.
