H2O Hostel is rated a 2-star guest house, and most of its amenities are found in the common areas. The shared living room features couches, a small library, a TV, a fireplace, a dartboard, and a billiards table. Room rates include a continental breakfast and Wi-Fi internet access. Laptop computers can be rented from the guest house. The reception area is closed between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on most days and between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Sundays. The guest house is located in the Hoorn area on the south side of Terschelling. The village of Hoorn has several historic farmhouses and the medieval St John's Church (Sint Janskerk), one of the island’s oldest buildings. Most of Terschelling Island is a nature reserve, and it has excellent cycling trails. The staff at H2O Hostel can help arrange horseback riding excursions or kitesurfing lessons. From the guest house it’s approx. 10.7 km/6.6 miles to the port of West-Terschelling, where there are ferry connections to Vlieland and Texel islands and to Harlingen on the mainland.
