Nestled between the Shenandoah National Park and the George Washington National Forest in Luray, Va., the MayneView Bed & Breakfast is convenient to hiking, fishing, golfing, canoeing and skiing in the Shenandoah Valley. Luray's Main Street is one and one half blocks away. Shenandoah National Park is less than one mile from the inn. A U.S. National Landmark, the Luray Caverns is approximately one mile away. Resting on three acres overlooking the town and the Blue Ridge Mountains, the MayneView Bed & Breakfast was originally constructed in 1865 as a hunting lodge by the co discoverer of the Luray Caverns. The building operated as a station for the Underground Railroad at the close of the Civil War. Full complimentary breakfasts are served each morning in the dining room. Complimentary snacks and beverages are also available. The inn offers complimentary wireless Internet access. This Victorian home features a wraparound front porch and a six person hot tub with mountain views. The parlor offers a fireplace and a Victorian sofa. Five guestrooms at the inn offer private bathrooms with showers or bathtubs. Three of the rooms feature fireplaces.
