This hotel is located approx. 7.8 km/4.8 miles southwest of Tashkent’s historic city centre, the Chorsu Bazaar, near the Kukeldash Madrasah. Fortunately, the hotel is within walking distance of 2 major stations – Oybek and Ming O’rik – of the Tashkent Metro, the only currently operating subway system in Central Asia. The subway offers transportation to tourist attractions such as Independence Square, the largest city square in the former Soviet Union, which once held a 30 metre/98 foot tall statue of Lenin; the Bolshoi Navoi Theatre, which hosts Russian ballet and opera; and the Amir Timur Museum. The Grand Mir Hotel is a 15 minute drive from Tashkent International Airport (sometimes called Vostochny-Tashkent) the largest Uzbekistan airport.
