The hotel has a rich history, beginning with a splendid inauguration hosted by King Oscar in 1893. KA Wallenberg was a visionary who turned his dream into a reality after a trip to Monte Carlo. Saltsjobaden was to become the prefect recreational site for a modern society, an oasis to return to in summer, winter, spring or autumn. The railway from Stockholm was also built at that time to provide hardworking Stockholm residents with a fast route to the seaside and the fresh salty air of Saltsjobaden. The attractive surroundings offer an endless variety of activities and experiences. The sea itself tempts you to sail, fish, take a skating tour in winter or a brisk walk along the beach and take in the bracing sea air.
