The hotel is considered to be the best in town WS0906 This is a grand old 1920s offering a traditional style building. The restaurant is in the basement but on the ground level. It is quiet with a faded elegance, airy with high ornate ceilings. The lobby is very small, although there is a spacious area nearby. 77 Single rooms Double rooms Twin rooms Triple rooms Non-smoking rooms Rooms vary in size but are generally modern and in good condition. Older rooms are quite large and rambling with much sepia and faded fixtures. Emphasis is on autumn colours. The hotel is set back from the main road away from any major settlements. It is near the train stopping route and bus routes and is very well placed for hiking.
