The Ghent River Hotel is situated right in the Ghent’s city center, on the bank of the Leie. Directly in front of the hotel is a small square which served as a thread market in the Middle Ages. Friday Market, the ‘vrijdagsmarkt’, and the Toreken are just a short walk from this Ghent hotel. An underground car park is available nearby for those driving to the Ghent River Hotel. This hotel is also the only one in Ghent that is accessible by boat. The Ghent River Hotel is comprised of over 70 rooms, some of which are suites. In-room amenities include an en suite bathroom, hairdryer, telephone and fax, Internet access, mini-bar, safe, and satellite TV. This hotel encompasses 2 buildings; one is a Renaissance house which dates to 1518, the other is a rice mill that dates back to 1857. Breakfast is served buffet-style each morning in the Ghent River Hotel’s tastefully decorated dining room, which boasts panoramic views of Ghent. After a long day of sightseeing or a good workout in the on-site fitness room, guests can sit back and relax in the sauna.
