Fontana Village Resort is a year round destination resort set amid the pristine beauty of the Nantahala Forest of Western North Carolina and a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Also available are Arts and Craft classes, mountain bike rentals, horseback riding, tennis, mini golf, 18 hole disc golf, and miles of on-site trails suitable for biking and hiking. The area??s breathtaking mountain vistas and panoramic views from Fontana and Cheoah lakes provide memories to last a lifetime. For the driving enthusiast there is the renowned tail of the Dragon on Hwy. 129, the challenging Moonshiner 28, that saddles up lakeside for twenty-two miles along Fontana Lake and the Cherohala Skyway, a fifty mile ridgeline dream ride connecting through the mountaintops of North Carolina to Tennessee and the historic Blue Ridge Parkway nearby. Take day trips to the Cherokee reservation and Harrahs Casino, whitewater rafting in the Nantahala Gorge or the Cheoah River, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, shopping in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Atlanta Zoo and Aquarium and numerous mountain heritage festivals. Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel.
