This beautiful town is located in the heart of the Norwegian Lapland, and is known for its reindeer herding, fishing, and breathtaking scenery. In the winter months, you can partake in cross country skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, and dog sledding tours provided by the lodge. In warmer months, the area is ideal for biking, canoeing, and walking; and salmon and trout fishing on the nearby Karasjok River. The Engholm Husky Design Lodge offers a one-of-a-kind accommodation with its hand built log cabins, warm and cozy atmosphere, and eloquent charm of the property. In the “Barta” main house, you can enjoy food and drinks, and cozy up to the open fire while you sit on reindeer fur and chat with other travelers. Guests can relax in the beautiful sauna and outdoor hot tub, or in the “Dogmusher Library” while reading a good book. Though out in the wilderness, you can still enjoy checking email using the complimentary wireless Internet access. The owner of Engholm Husky Design Lodge - Sven, is a well known experienced dog sled guide and top “Iditarod” finisher and raises sled dogs here. His passion for leading dog sledding tours has evolved into providing them to guests for an experience of a lifetime. Also available are mountain riding tours on horseback.
