The 4-star Dunbrody Country House hotel is housed in an enchanting 1830s Georgian building set in 200 acres of well cultivated parkland. The hotel is situated sits on the hook peninsular of Co. Wexford in Arthurstown, within reach of 14 beaches and walking paths within miles of preserved woodland. Guests can keep busy with deep sea and shark fishing trips, horse riding and kite surfing. Shopping enthusiasts will also be enthralled with Wexford, known for its crafts, designer knitwear and antiques. The hotel's oak flooring and open fires set the classic country hotel scene and its onsite Dunbrody day spa is a highlight. Its refreshing contemporary design compliments luxury menu includes beauty treatments massages and facials carried out in suede walled treatment rooms. Furthermore guests can enjoy chocolate dipped strawberries and fruit smoothies in the relaxation room in between treatments. A unique addition to the hotel is its cookery school which features beginner to advanced coursers, created by celebrity Master Kevin Dundon. The Harvest Room dining room also operates as an award winning restaurant. Its seasonal menu is made up of local and nationally sourced produce and a Table d'Hote weekend menu. Guests can also sample the extensive Dumbrody wine list. Dundons' Champagne Seafood Bar which also uses seasonal produce for its menu serves delicious costal inspired favourites such as beer-battered fish and chips, fisherman's pie and haddock smokies. Standard rooms retain their original Georgian features and are all individually styled with period furniture and wallpaper and a large bed. Attention to detail ensures that comfort and convenience is a priority at the hotel and guests are treated to orthopaedic mattresses with duck down toppers, a choice of duck and down or non allergenic pillows and a duck and down duvet or blankets. Guests are met with fresh fruit on arrival and are also supplied with bathrobes and slippers and still or carbonated mineral water throughout their stay. Complimentary amenities include a TV with VCR and cable channels, CD/DVD players and access to a DVD movie library available at reception. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in reception. Rooms overlook the cookery school, spa and car park.
