The Doubletree San Antonio Downtown Hotel is located right in the Market Square area that is the most unique area of the city. The hotel has a trolley that stops in front which takes guests to all major areas of the downtown area within 5 to 10 minutes. It is an ideal location offering full-service amenities with a resort-like feel. This property is only 15 minutes away from the famous Riverwalk, the Alamo and the international airport. The Doubletree San Antonio Downtown Hotel has high-tech, modern design throughout property. This hotel opened in 1993 and has gone through a $9 million renovation and reopened in May of 2010. The lobby and the restaurant areas have large windows that look out onto the swimming pool and courtyard areas affording the guests a leisurely and relaxing atmosphere. There are a total of 250 guest rooms on offer. Facilities provided for guests include 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, lift access, a TV lounge, caf and a bar. Business guests are sure to appreciate the conference facilities. Furthermore, Internet access, room service, a car park and a garage are available. The guest rooms offer coffeemakers with complimentary coffee and tea, individually controlled air conditioning and heating, vanity units and updated hardware and lights come in each room. They are also equipped with a desk and ergonomic chairs, a 32-inch flat-screen TV with satellite/cable channels and mahogany dark furniture, with modern sage colours in the linens and on the walls to give a relaxing atmosphere. The hotel offers complimentary wireless Internet access in the guest rooms and throughout the property. The en suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, bathtub and hairdryer. A direct dial telephone, radio, safe, mini fridge, microwave, ironing set and balcony or terrace also features in each room as standard. The hotel provides guests with an outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tub and gym, all complimentary for the hotel's guests. Refreshments are served at the poolside snack bar. There is a golf course around 8 km away. The hotel always has special meals and special drinks offered throughout the year. A continental breakfast buffet is served each morning, and lunch and dinner may be selected la carte. Dinner is alternatively offered from a set menu. San Antonio is located in the centre of the state of Texas on two major highways. Interstate 35 is 290 miles (466.7 km) from Dallas and Interstate highway 10 is 190 miles (305.7 km) from Houston, while it is 150 miles (241.4 km) from the Mexican border and the coast.
