Situated on a quiet street in the heart of the Old City, Dome Hotel & SPA is the Latvian capital's first and only luxury boutique hotel. The small, fifteen-room establishment boasts an extensive spa complex and a gourmet restaurant, whose executive chef Alexander Ziluk is an alumnus of Vincents, the most renowned restaurant in the Baltics. The building now home to Dome Hotel & SPA was first constructed over four hundred years ago, as a private residence. Renovation work took several years to complete, as the architect took great pains to preserve as much of the original seventeenth-century structure as possible. Once completed, the architect collaborated with an award-winning designer to plan the interior, which blends original period details-like authentic wall paintings, a wooden staircase, and porcelain woodstoves-with modern design elements, such as top-of-the-line bathroom fixtures, custom-made furniture, an outdoor terrace and hanging garden, and a collection of original oil paintings. The result is the most original, comfortable, and elegant hotel in Latvian history: a triumph of great architecture and cutting-edge interior design. In addition to the luxurious comforts and visual joys of the hotel, guests also experience the best service in the country. The small, handpicked staff cater to the needs and tastes of every guest, and are ready to fulfill any wish they desire, be it tickets to a sold-out performance, a chauffeured trip to the countryside, or a private party in the downstairs restaurant.
