There is also a large, private parking area. A truly good destination choice for families, the village is built across the sands, and there are many wonderful and quiet beaches around it. The main beach is full of people in summer time and there are water sports, bars, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and souvenir shops. The natural surroundings are beautiful with the southern Cretan Sea, the mountain and the natural forest in the North. There are daily boat trips from Makrygialos to a small island called Koufonisi. Here, you can escape to true Cretan nature. You could also visit 3 other traditional Cretan villages and 2 archaeological places in the village (the Minoan and the Greek Roman villa).By Plane: Heraklion International Airport is 125 km from the accommodation (one hour and 30 minutes by taxi). By Sea: Heraklion port is 130 km from the accommodation.
