Surrounded by fields and woodland on 3 sides. Private. Hidden down a rural lane on a hill above the river Fowey. Cornish Cottage is minutes from the World Heritage site Bodmin moor. You might not find the beast of Bodmin Moor but you will find bronze age stone circles views to Dartmoor or the coast and delightful villages and pubs. This is hidden Cornwall and if you stay with us we will share our favourite places with you so that you can find quiet beaches walks and pub in the summer. A grade 2 listed arts and crafts semi detached cottage. Built in 1896 in rubble stone with castellated cast iron gutters and slated roof lintels for each window. Built for as a farmhouse and part of the estate of George and Mary Hermon curate of St Neot of Doublebois House. The house is featured in kisses on a postcard the story of a boy evacuee in the hamlet of Doublebois. Enter the house into a hallway from which 3 doors lead off. Into a comfortable south facing lounge with vaulted ceilings and a working fireplace. Or into the kitchen decorated in traditional paints with a solid fuel burner. The third doorway leads into a small converted larder now a lavatory. Upstairs the hallway leads to three bedrooms. The first master bedroom faces south and is decorated with William Morris wallpaper and an art deco fireplace. The second bedroom has a large window and a small feature window which adds great charm. The third bedroom has a bunk bed and leads and to the bathroom. A camp bed and cot are available. The location is a perfect base for exploring Cornwall. 35 beaches 8 Cornish gardens and houses Eden project and more in 35 minutes.
