The Carter Caves State Resort is situated close to many area attractions. These include the Cascade Cave, Woodland Trails, Tygart State Forest and the Laurel and Horn Hollow Caves. Guests can enjoy canoeing and fishing around the many lakes in the area. There are 28 guest rooms and 11 cottages at the Carter Caves State Resort. Living rooms, kitchens and fireplaces can be found in cottages. The Carter Caves State Resort was built in 1963 and was remodeled in 2004.
