At the edge of prehistoric sites, enjoy water skiing, fish for the world renowned trout at Eagle Lake, ride horseback through the mountains of standing pine, or rent road vehicles on the beautiful expanses of high desert. Also, you can camp in the high lake areas along streams or hike to the top of neighboring namesake Lassen Peak, a volcano that still blows steam from its vents.
