Bongani Mountain Lodge is ideally situated in the shadows of the Malelane Mountain range in 8,000 hectares of Mthetomusha Game Reserve, on the south western border of the world renowned Kruger National Park. It is a low-risk malaria destination due to its altitude where you can experience the Big Five including lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo. Walk ancient paths once used by the San (Bushman) people with over 250 San rock art sites, estimated to be 1,500 years old, the greatest concentration of rock art per square meter on earth. Bogani's Room Configuration consists of 29 x Standard Double Rooms (10 x include a sleeper couch), 09 x Standard Twins Rooms and 01 x Suites (1 bedrooms with a Double bed, the other with twin beds. Suites are a subtle blend of timber and thatch. Each has private decks featuring magnificent wraparound views, ideal for families, groups or individual travellers. Bongani has a fully-equipped, air conditioned conference room accommodating up to 60 delegates. The Deck offers panoramic views and ample breakaway areas and is an inspirational and revitalising destination for productive strategy-sessions, team building, bush adventures and board meetings. From the moment you are met for your scenic game-drive up the mountain, you will be delighted by hospitality, care and personal attention. Delicious Pan-African cuisine is enjoyed in the fire-lit, traditional Boma (outdoor dining area) or in the spacious dining area. Bongani is also renowned for exceptional bush banqueting in surprise settings. The bar, dining and lounge areas with striking views are open from 10h00 daily. Meal Times are approximate and may vary according to the length of your game drive. We have no dress code – it is very relaxed in the bush and you are free to dress as you wish. Early breakfast as well as lunch and breakfast packs can be arranged from reception. Drinking Water is supplied by Bore-Hole and is safe to drink. Mini bar facilities are available in all suites and can be stocked with beverages of your choice. Children are accepted at the lodge; however there are some restricted areas. No children under 16 are permitted at the View Deck and Pool due to safety reasons. Bongani will not be held responsible for any liabilities or accidents at the pools. No children under the age of 16 are permitted near the Conference centre and Amani Spa unless a treatment has been booked. Unfortunately we do not take children under 2 years of age, no children the age of 7 are permitted on game drives due to safety reasons. Kiddies game drives can be arranged after breakfast. One adult must accompany their child/ren and the drive is 1 hour and 30 minutes. An additional charge of R200.00 is applicable.
