The Hotel Alla Rocca is located in the central of the typical little town of Varena, which still manteins the well known alpine spirit in the whole dolomitic arch and particulary in the Valley of Fiemme. Lying at the foot of Corno Nero, Varena is one of the oldest populated centres in Trentino. From a tourist point of view it benefits from its proximity to the plateau of Passo di Lavaze (8 km from Varena). It is a real natural paradise for hiking and, in particular, a cross country ski area with over 50 km of tracks and some lifts and downhill ski runs. There are also shops of all kinds, pubs, pastry shops, coffee bars and a disco pub, to make your holiday pleasant and exciting. All the skiing places are easily reachable with a free of charge ski bus: for the cross country skiing there is Lavaze with its 50 km of skiing tracks perfectly cured and its unrepeatable scenaries, totally immersed in a luxuriant nature. For the people who want to ski, the Lagorai Skiland of the Cermis Alp offers more than 20 km tracks, while the Ski Center Latemar of Pampeago, Predazzo and Obereggen offers more than 50 km of tracks, for all kind of skiers. Modern installations of programmed bedding of snow guarantee the optimum conditions of the tracks during the whole winter season, from December to Easter time.
