The Ballathie House Hotel is located in the heart of Stanley and is one of the leading country hotels in Scotland. It lies in an idyllic position above the River Tay, gateway to the Scottish Highlands, with the tree-lined sweeping lawns that lead to the river providing an excellent backdrop. The Scottish Highlands and Perthshire offer some of the finest scenery in Scotland, while in 25 minutes guests will reach shops, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. It is around an hour by car to Edinburgh, while Scone Palace and Dunkeld are some 25 minutes away. The hotel is an ideal location for those wishing to take day trips to Fort William, Edinburgh, or Perth. From the hotel numerous sights lie within easy reach, such as St. Andrews, Loch Ness, Pitlochry, Royal Deeside, Speyside, and Aviemore. The nearest public transport stops can be reached within 10 minutes, as can the lovely tourist centre of Blairgowrie. From the hotel, it is about 80 km to Edinburgh Airport, 125 km to Glasgow International Airport, and some 170 km to Dyce Airport. This well-appointed country house was constructed in 1880 and consists of a main building and an annexe. It comprises a total of 42 rooms, of which three are elegant suites and one is a disability-friendly room, all spread over two floors. Guests may look forward to magnificent gardens, a terrace, a spacious lobby area, a cloakroom, and a reception desk open around the clock. Facilities include a dining room, a cosy bar, and a restaurant serving exquisite cuisine and with daily changing menus. Those travelling on business may make use of the function rooms for conferences and meetings as well as the W-LAN Internet access. Room and laundry services are available and those arriving by car may take advantage of the car park. The individually decorated and elegantly furnished rooms all come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer. Further fittings include a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a radio and wireless Internet access with a modem point. Central heating, an iron and ironing board, carpeting, and tea and coffee making facilities are also provided in all accommodation units as standard. Guests may take the opportunity to play golf, go horse riding, or try fishing. Breakfast is served every morning. A set menu is available for lunch and dinner. In addition, the hotel caters for guests with special dietary requirements. By Air: Edinburgh Airport is 50 miles (1 hr) away Glasgow Airport is 75 miles (1 hr 30 mins) away Helicopter landing area at hotel. By Road: A9 Dual Carraigeway to Perth from Glasgow and M90 motorway to Perth from Edinburgh, (follow signs for Inverness A9 North). Two miles north of Perth, take B9099 through Luncarty and Stanley, turn right at sign for Kinclaven (& Ballathie). Ballathie House Hotel is approximately 3 miles along on the right hand side. Alternatively take the A93 Perth to Blairgowrie road and turn off at the Beech Hedges (follow signs for Kinclaven & Ballathie).
