Golf Fishing Walking Crail boasts its own links Golf Courses within a mile from the hotel Balcomie Links which is the 7th oldest course in the World and the new course Craighead Links was added in 1998 to cope with the ever increasing demand for the golf in the area. Both courses are in excellent shape and challenging and very much enjoyable to play in a beatiful links setting along the coastline of Fifeness. The small villages scattered along the coast are steeped in history with many Scottish Trust buildings and castles open to the public and are all linked with well kept coastal walks providing an excellent opportunity to take in the spectacular views of the coastline and over the Firth of Forth. The largest of the villages Anstruther is 3 miles away and houses the Scottish Fisheries Museum open to the public all year round. Pittenweem home of the Fife fishing fleet is followed by St Monans which has the Salt Pans and ancient church perched on top of the shoreline rocks. Elie hosts the local Watersports along its sandy beaches and finally on to Largo whose famous son Alexander Selkirk inspired Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe. A short drive north brings you to St Andrews "The Home of Golf". Play the famous golf courses take in the history of the cathedral or just spend a little time wandering round the shops and back streets which ever you decide it will be an unforgettable experience.
