It's a modern and environmentally aware restoration of a 1920s terraced house, completely and elegantly restored in line with the principles of green building and sustainability. The most important aspects are the complete lack of reinforced concrete and iron thus avoiding the creation of a Faraday cage; the use of materials only of vegetable or mineral origin (linings in mineral wool instead of polystyrene, plaster based on lime instead of cement, indoor plastering done using raw clay, flooring in bamboo, doors and windows in wood rather than PVC); complete freedom from electrical and electromagnetic fields in the bedrooms, thanks to circuit breakers; the use of wood frames made from untreated red spruce for the ceilings, the stairs and the whole of the top floor viewing area; total lack of synthetic paints and formaldehyde. Thanks to the use of a heat pump powered by photovoltaic panels and supplemented by a thermal solar panel, the building has been awarded Energy Class A (average annual energy consumption 40Kwh).
