The Aultbea Hotel was built in 1850 as a hunting lodge and has over the years evolved into a very comfortable and well appointed eight bedroomed hotel. All the bedrooms are ensuite and have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. Our deluxe rooms overlook the loch and have jacuzzi baths in the ensuite bathrooms. Our standard rooms are also well appointed and have views overlooking the village of Aultbea and the surrounding countryside. Situated at the water's edge, the hotel's Waterside Bistro and Zetland Restaurant are the perfect locations to enjoy spectacular views of the loch with its array of birds, sealife and sometimes an otter or two whilst enjoying a meal or snack prepared by Ian our chef and his team. We specialise in local seafood (when in season) freshly caught in the loch. Our salmon is locally smoked at Isle of Ewe Smokehouse and our black puddings come from award winning Ritchies' of Aultbea. Enjoy an after dinner drink in our cosy lounge bar or come and meet the locals in the lively public bar. The Aultbea Hotel is ideally situated for exploring the north west highlands with Inverewe Gardens nearby, the Benn Eighe Nature Reserve, the Torridon mountains, Ullapool and the Ise of Skye easily accessible for day trips. The village of Aultbea and Loch Ewe played an important part during World War II as the Arctic Convoy ships rendevouz point before sailing to Russia.
