Puerto de la Cruz is situated on the north coast of Tenerife, surrounded by spectacular scenery and with fantastic views of Mount Teide. The old town of Puerto de la Cruz is huddled around the small port, where local fishermen land their daily catch. The traditional Canarian style houses add to the charm. In the evenings the place comes alive, with a good choice of nightlife, bars, dining and one of Europe s most luxurious casinos. The Melia La Paz is situated in one of the quieter residential areas of the city - La Paz. From here it is just 100 metres to the famous Botanical Gardens, yet only 10 minutes from the city centre itself and the seafront Martianez lido area. The Melia La Paz Aparthotel is all low-rise, with most of the studios and apartments in two-storey buildings all set in gardens. The swimming pool is heated during the winter and is itself surrounded by gardens and sun-terraces.
