For over 200 years, the typical rooftops profile has told the tale of this ancient building, right at the centre of Villanova Mondovi, shaded by century-old fir trees, overlooked by the medieval citadel of Villavecchia. It’s the tale of the ceramics craftsmanship of Mondovi and of its colorful kitchenware, in the period between the 18th and 19th Century. The elegant, cobalt-blue ornaments, are echoed today in the ten rooms of the “Albergo della Ceramica” (“Hotel of Ceramics”), a high-class living facility characterized by the brick arches of the original, early -19th Century building, a textile mill. A place where past and present blend together, where colorful hand-made dishes adorning the walls go together with the most updated comfort technology, where aging photographs of ancient decorators match perfectly with highly refined furniture. The Albergo della Ceramica combines pleasure for hospitality with a passion for beauty, quietly seeking a balance between nature and charme.
