Built in the fifteenth century, this old private residence has lodged members of the nobility and the people of the court who accompanied the kings and queens during their visits to Fontainebleau, near Vaux-le-VicomteSince the eighteenth century (1764 approximately) this old royal abode began to be transformed gradually into a hotel and welcomed guests passing through Fontainebleau for short stays. The hotel has been subjected to regular transformations and embellishments which have improved its service and its comfort even further while preserving the charm of this exceptional place. Aigle Noir Hotel has welcomed many personalities over the last fifty years, heads of state, members of royal families, artists or business men. All of them have come to seek calm or inspiration. This hotel is located opposite the palace gardens in the town centre.
