Pony trekking, cycling, windsurfing, sailing and ferry trips are only a small sample of the many outdoor activities that can be arranged at Kielder Water - Northern Europe's largest man made lake - which is cradled by Kielder Forest Park, nearby. The historic market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey is only 17 miles away and the ancient town of Morpeth is 25 miles east. The World Heritage site of Hadrian's Wall Country, England's largest Heritage Site within this most northerly of National Parks is within easy driving distance and Vindolanda, Thirlwell Castle, a quarry wildlife park, The Roman Army Museum and Walltown Craggs - the highest remaining section of Hadrian's Wall- are all interesting visitor attractions close by.
