Finches of Beechworth is located in the historic gold mining township of Beechworth; close to the snowfields and central to the many wineries and gourmet food producers of the North-East region. Finches is a meticulously restored Victorian home, offering elegant accommodation, tranquil surroundings and superb food and wine. An extensive English style garden surrounds the home, which can accommodate up to 12 guests in six individually decorated bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The house is framed by a wide wisteria covered verandah, where breakfast is served in the warmer months. The large and delightful sitting room, with its extensive library, CD collections and open fire, is a perfect place to relax with music and a good book or to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. The dining room is a focal point of the hospitality at Finches and provides the ideal setting to enjoy superb modern cuisine based on regional and seasonal produce. An extensive wine list of local, Australian and Italian wine is designed to complement the menu. Finches of Beechworth has developed an excellent reputation, both nationally and internationally, since opening in 1991. Finches is recommended in the 'Gourmet Retreats' section of The Age Good Food Guide and was highly recommended in the 1997 Tucker Seabrook Wine List of the Year Awards. Finches is a relaxing haven within walking distance of the shops, galleries and restaurants of historic Beechworth. It is also the perfect touring base for exploring Victoria's beautiful North-East.
