An ancient Villa, a family residence, a jewel in the piedmontese countryside, to welcome guests appreciating beauty: Relais Villa Matilde still retains the charm of ancient times and offers to the guests a unique atmosphere, warm and comfortable. The major renewal works launched in 2002, first of all involved the complete central body of the villa, retaining the original period style, and now has 20 guest rooms, the Royal Salon with bar and meeting rooms, the restaurant and the reception hall. The guestrooms, all with wooden floors, are different from each other: some of them featuring frescoed ceilings, and furnished with original furniture associated with the most modern comforts. The careful restoration works performed make it possible to admire old paints and to live unforgettable moments in the elegant rooms and suites all furnished with original pieces. Most rooms overlook the park and are equipped with satellite TV sets, two telephone lines, access to WI-FI internet, air conditioning, minibar, and strongbox. Furthermore, every room is provided with a true large bathroom furnished in the country style, where use has been made of materials and fittings conforming to the original furnishing: a Jacuzzi is also available in the suites. Remarkable are the high and decorated ceilings of the rooms located at the first floor, which once were the apartments reserved for adults. Conversely, children and servants were accommodated in the lower and mansarded rooms at the second floor: an original wooden stair, well kept, granted the access to the second floor and let adults hear children coming down thanks to the typical noise of steps on wood. In 2006, the works in the new section of the villa were also completed and led to the realization of 23 rooms subdivided into two areas: Tinaia and Colombaia, whose names make reference to the ancient wine cellar, where vats (tini in Italian), used for grape pressing and wine fermentation, were stored and to the pigeon house (colombaia in Italian).The new rooms, which are classified into superior and bi-level suites with false ceiling, retain a classic, rather country style, both inside and outside.
