An affordable Monemvassia hotel, it has a great location 20 metres/22 yards from the sea and a short walk from the medieval Castle of Monemvassia, on the rock peninsula sometimes called the Gibraltar of the East. The Hotel Pramataris is a traditional two-storey building with a spacious reception area and a pleasant cafe-bar on the terrace. The front desk is staffed all day, and free Wi-Fi internet access is provided. The hotel’s facilities also include a TV room, a luggage room, and a designated smoking area. In the new town of Monemvassia on the mainland (sometimes called Gefyra), this hotel is located directly opposite pebbly Kakavos Beach, which is lined with restaurants and coffee shops. The market and town centre are within walking distance of the hotel. Cross the short bridge on the causeway to reach the Monemvassia Peninsula. The fortress dating back to the year 583 is on top of the rock, while the Old Town of Monemvassia is on the slope to the southeast of the rock. From the port of Monemvassia, ferries leave for Piraeus and Kythira.
