This parador is located on a meander of the river Jucar, on a promontory, on the boundary of La Mancha and Levante. It is easy to be found just at the entrance of the town itself. The cuisine typical of the region includes, amongst others, specialities such as El Morteruelo (finely chopped spiced and breaded pork), los Zarajos (cured lamb tripe) and las Gachas de almortas (another pork dish).This 8th century castle, a genuine medieval fortress, can be appreciated in its keep, on the battlements and inside. The lobby as the rest of the public areas are decorated with military motifs such as armour, swords and standards.
